Very handy for many monitoring uses, though mine is primarily to display minute-by-minute weather station data from a couple of sources. It then shows up where you put it in Dashboard, with the contents refreshed every time you open Dashboard. With Dashboard, you can browse to a website in Safari, go to “File > Open in Dashboard…” and basically “snip” a portion of the displayed website to convert it into a custom Dashboard widget. Did you find this useful? Did you do it a different way? Let us know in the comments below how you’ve replaced the defunct Dashboard on your Mac!Įvernote’s great for saving static versions of websites for later reference, but here I’m talking about displaying frequently updated “live” graphs and tables. Thats’ it! We now have access to cool new widgets right within a swift move of the mouse to the top-left hand corner that reveals the “Notification Center” and allows us to visualize important info in a matter of seconds. We then proceeded to go to the black Apple on the Menu bar on the top left corner > System Preferences > Mission Control > click the “Hot Corners” button at the bottom then selected “Notification Center” as the top left hot corner. We found the “Euler’s Unit Converter” app that comes with a widget, we used the “Weather” widget directly into the “Today’s view” for weather forecast, the “Hour – World Clock” widget in the App Store for time in different places in the world and added more like the built-in “Calendar” widget. Then, we proceeded to find replacements for weather & unit converters widgets on the App Store. That’s where you can find what’s going on in your world today. We started to use to the “Notification Center” by clicking the 3 horizontal lines icon on the Menu bar on the top right corner. We then started a hunt for alternatives and we found one that may work for you too. This allowed many carefully arranged widgets to provide valuable info like time in different time zones for our team members & clients, weather forecasts in many cities we travel to on a regular basis, unit converters and more.īut after macOS Catalina, Dashboard disappeared to our dismay! See, we were using “Hot Corners” to show the Dashboard with a swift move a the magic mouse to the top left corner of our Mac. Currently it is available as the fully-functional beta version, free for download. Were you a fan of your Dashboard widgets on Mac? Sad to lose them after upgrading to macOS Catalina? You’re not alone…Īpple has decided to get rid of the Dashboard so cherished by some of us around the world but we found alternative solutions that made the trick for us. Right now we continue the development and support of our applications, focusing on To-do Lists 2.0 major upgrade. Release of the Mini Calendar application and continuous user feedback brough us to an idea of switching to ‘supportware’ software distribution model: release applications for free without any limitations in functionality, but allowing users, willing to support us, pay any amount they want. It was released in April, 2016 getting 100k+ downloads since then. Existing applications didn’t fit well - were too obtrusive, with huge amount of unneeded functions, so we decided to fill this gap with Mini Calendar application. It was released at the end of March, 2014 and since then got nearly 1 million downloads worldwide.Īt some point we found out that it would be really handy to have small popup calendar in the menu bar of the macOS. While work on the To-do Lists continued, we implemented Antnotes application - simple free sticky notes with additional paid version for those who wanted to support the development. It had major success, hitting the top rankings at the App Store and receiving overall good user reviews. Antlogic company started as iOS software development company in 2009.Īfter opening of the Mac App Store in January, 2011 we switched to macOS, releasing the To-do Lists application at the end of February, 2011.
